BLUE SHUTTLE PROJECT AT THE EUROPEAN MARITIME DAY CONFERENCE IN CORK

As part of European Maritime Day, the partners of the Blue Shuttle Project participated in the third Steering Committee Meeting of the project, which was held in Cork, Ireland.

The meeting covered the progress of the various activities and the next steps to be taken in the project, including areas for improvement following an analysis of tasks carried out in previous months.

One of the most important topics was the candidates submitted to the Call for Solutions, which was open from 5 March to 30 April. Each partner provided a brief summary of the proposals received, after which instructions were given on the next steps to be taken.

Once the candidates have been selected, the partners will meet with the challenge owner and the solver to develop new technology to address the challenge. Another key aspect will be the pilot project, for which a location will be established to carry out tests once the new technology has been developed.

In the afternoon, the Blue Shuttle project partners attended a Blue Skills Classroom Workshop, which was designed to encourage and inspire more companies to participate in the digitalisation process.

This is one of the project’s fundamental pillars, as one of its objectives is to implement an innovation strategy that facilitates the adoption of digital solutions by blue bioeconomy sectors. This would stimulate growth and activities in the blue bioeconomy efficiently and sustainably, while providing creative, innovative and viable solutions that promote competitiveness and resilience.

We are pleased that this Interreg Atlantic Area co-financed project is progressing favourably and contributing to Europe’s growth.
